The bed wasn't thinned properly, so we also got some pretty interesting carrot shapes!
The orange one in the middle looks like a squid. |
This evening, I used garden carrots to make a lovely carrot, snap pea, avocado, and cilantro salad. Quite refreshing! I think the different varieties of carrots are beautiful together. From now on, I plan to be permanently dissatisfied with plain ol' orange carrots from Stop and Shop.
Who knew carrots took so many different forms?
Wow! I love the carrots on the black background. And your composition, positioning of carrots is visually very pleasing...
ReplyDeleteDo the carrots actually taste very different? Do the colors signify anything in particular -- or are they just pretty?
And even if they are just pretty, why is it that all of our usual carrots are the same color...?
I need to speak with Someone In Authority...!
Those are very pretty carrots. I have grown quite a few different colored carrots (purples, reds, etc.). By far, I would have to say that my favorite non-orange carrot has been Kyoto Red. It is wonderfully sweet and very much worth a try!
